Animal Licenses and Fee's

The Clerk's Office assists Taos County Animal Control with issuance of the following:

Licenses and Permit Fees

  • Companion Animal License fee $10 per animal
  • Intact Companion Animal License fee $50 per female animal, $25 per male animal
  • Multiple Companion Animal Site Permit fee $25 per site
  • Breeder Permit fee $100 per breeding animal
  • Companion Animal Litter Permit fee $25 per litter
  • Exotic or Wild Animal Collection Permit fee $35 
  • Dangerous Dog Permit fee $50 per animal 
  • Potentially Dangerous Dog Permit fee $50 per animal
  • Guard Dog Site Permit fee $50 per site
  • Animal Service Provider fee $25 per year
  • Pet Store Permit fee $50 per year 
Renewal Fees for all Licenses and Permits are 50% off the cost of the original application

Licenses and permits require rabies tag#, microchip #, location of the animal, animal age, gender, breed and physical description
