NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

The following Tax Year 2022 application and declaration forms are now available on the county website. These forms are located within the Assessor applications & forms section (http://www.taoscounty.org/156/Applications-Forms):

  • Head of Family Exemption 
  • Non-Governmental Claim of Exemption
  • Veteran Exemption/ Disabled Veteran Property Tax Waiver
  • 2022 Agricultural Land Application 
  • 2022 Livestock Report
  • 2022 Limitation on Single Family Dwelling Increase in Value (age 65 and older or disabled: modified gross income of $37,300 or less)
  • 2022 Business Personal Property Report (deadline: February 26, 2022.)
  • 2022 Business Personal Property Valuation Guidelines
  • Change of Mailing Address
  • Estimated Tax Request

These forms can also be obtained at the Assessor office.

The Assessor’s Office is located at the Taos County Administration building, 105 Albright Street, Ste. A., Taos, New Mexico 87571

Hours of operation: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (open during the lunch hour.)  Masks must be worn at all times; we are accepting no more than 4 visitors to the office lobby at one time.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office at 575-737-6360.

Responsibilities

The county Assessor and their staff are responsible for locating and identifying  taxable properties located in Taos County and to determine the taxable value of all property in accordance with laws set forth by The State of New Mexico regarding property valuations and tax assessments.
