In order to change your address, you must first contact the Assessor’s Office and have the change of address updated in their database. Once you have completed that process, you may contact the Taos County Solid Waste Administration requesting an address change.

This fee is assessed for each residential structure within the unincorporated areas of Taos County.
The fee covers the Solid Waste Operations and entitles the responsible party access to Taos County Transfer Stations or Town of Taos Regional Landfill to dispose of household rubbish.
If you use a commercial hauler recognized by Taos County pursuant to Section 14 of Ordinance Number 2014-7 shall be required to pay an annual fee in the amount of $30 including all applicable taxes, to Taos County so long as the responsible party maintains continues service with a private hauler, which shall be assessed on or about January 1st of each year.
Payment of the discounted fee shall entitle the responsible party to one punch card that is valid for six punches for a period of one year, which will allow the owner to utilize any of the Taos County transfer stations and or the Town of Taos Regional Landfill.
Any homeowner who qualifies for 100% permanent disability shall pay a discounted annual fee in the amount of $30 including applicable taxes, which shall be assessed on or about January 1st of each year. The disabled property owner will receive a 24 punch Disability Punch Card, which will allow the property owner to utilize any of the Taos County transfer stations and or landfill.
A disability form (PDF), may be picked up at the Solid Waste Administration Office, will need to be signed and dated by your doctor, and returned to us to qualify for this discount.
Any resident that lives in a multi-family resident development or mobile home park whose owner contracts with a commercial hauler to provide solid waste collection and disposal for its residents shall be required to pay an annual fee in the amount of $30 including all applicable taxes to Taos County so long as the owner maintains continuous service with a private hauler, which shall be assessed on or about January 1st of each year. Payment of the discounted fee shall entitle the responsible party to one punch card that is valid for six punches for a period of one year.
Taos County does not have exemptions or reductions towards the solid waste fee.
If you occupy your residence at all during the year, you are liable for this fee. In keeping with the Solid Waste Ordinance, Taos County does not pro-rate any of the billings for seasonal residents.
Any non-county resident of Taos County may purchase one punch card that is valid for 12 punches for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase for $120 which include all applicable taxes.
If there are multiple residences on a given property, the Solid Waste fee shall be assessed on each structure.
