[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Taos County Senior Program Current Operating Plan

All Senior Centers

Currently all senior centers are open to staff and are providing grab and go meals for congregate seniors five days per week. We are also providing home delivered and weekend meals for our homebound seniors along with transportation services. We propose to continue to provide this method of service until January 2021 as the risk of Covid 19 is still prevalent in our county and our seniors are the most vulnerable to catch this virus.

Congregate Meals- We will continue to provide congregate meals by offering a drive through service called grab and go meals. The client will call the center and order a meal and we will document the order by name and will package the meal and when the client comes to pick up the meal one of our employees will go out and take the meal to the client. The employee will wear gloves and a mask if applicable as part of the protocol for the delivery and can either scan the clients meal card or we can enter the name of the client who picked up the meal on our my senior center data base for the purpose of SAM’s data collection by staff.

Home Delivered Meals-
We will continue the process of meals delivered to home bound clients by utilizing our hot trucks and as we always do the driver will wear gloves and a mask if applicable and change them for every meal delivery to the clients. The driver will scan the meal card as usual for SAM’s data collection. The driver will follow best practices when checking on client to ensure that the client is well. The driver will take the used glove off and sanitize their hands after each meal delivery and follow the same process for the next client.

Transportation- We will continue to transport clients to their medical appointments and for groceries only if the stores are open. The driver will follow best practices when checking on client to ensure that the client is well. The driver will sanitize their hands after contact with every client. The driver will utilize a mask to ensure that there is minimal chance of spreading the virus. No more than two passengers per trip; Driver is required to sanitize their vehicles after every drop off;
