[ARCHIVED] Taos County & Town of Taos Joint Workstudy Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the governing bodies of Taos County and the Town of Taos will hold a Joint Work Study Session on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.  Due to the impact of the COVID-19 virus and in conformance with the Executive Orders of the Governor of the State of New Mexico, Public Health Orders of the Secretary of Health, and consistent with the guidelines of the New Mexico Attorney General, this meeting will be held electronically with no live audience and livestreamed to the public. The meeting may be accessed in real-time through the websites of both the Town and County. A video record of the full meeting will also subsequently be posted on both websites and will also be accessible by contacting the Offices of the County and Town Clerks.

This will be a joint work study session of the two governing bodies with the mutually agreed upon goal of periodically meeting to improve communication and coordination between the two governments as well as discussing and more effectively addressing important inter-jurisdictional issues impacting our region.

The governing bodies of both jurisdictions have committed to meeting monthly on the fourth Thursday of the month at 2:00 p.m., or as needed and agreed upon until further notice in order to develop effective responses to major issues facing our community.

Matters to be discussed are limited to those identified on the published agenda unless agreed to by the Chair of both governing bodies or a majority of the elected officials of both bodies in order for staff to provide appropriate background information.

No official action may be taken at a Work Study Session by either body, though officials may provide direction to staff, discuss and express opinions, express a consensus or identify matters they wish to take action on at a future separate or joint meeting.

Joint Town-County meetings at wish the bodies intend to request or contemplate taking action will be noticed to the public as a business meeting, not a work study session.
