North Central Regional Transit District

 

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the North Central Regional Transit District is to provide safe, secure and effective public transportation within North Central New Mexico in order to enhance the quality of life of our citizens by providing mobility options and spur economic development throughout the region.


ABOUT US

The North Central Regional Transit District began service in 2007. It provides free and premium fare-based bus transit connecting communities and pueblos throughout the counties of north central New Mexico including Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe and Taos. Further expanding its reach, the signature RTD Blue Buses provide riders with connections to New Mexico Rail Runner, Santa Fe Trails, New Mexico Park and Ride, Los Alamos Atomic City Transit, Taos Chile Line and Red River Miner’s Transit. All of its buses are ADA accessible and equipped with bicycle racks. The RTD provides service on 20 Fixed routes and two Demand Response routes.

 Mission

To bring the knowledge, research and education that is being conducted at the University level to the people of Taos County.  This is done through informal and formal educational programs and research conducted by the Agricultural Science Centers across N.M.

 

Grass Roots Direction 

  • The Extension Office works on the premise that the local people understand their educational needs
  • Program direction is provided by an overall Extension Advisory Committee
  • Further direction is provided by commodity groups, individuals, Taos County Board of Commissioners and NMSU administration (when necessary)
