Taos County Human Resources Department


 

Mission

The department provides assistance, direction and support to county departments to ensure consistency in the administration of collective bargaining agreements, and to promote organizational excellence through effective employee benefit and workforce development programming.

 

The department further strives to ensure that fair and equal treatment is provided to employees and applicants in an atmosphere which promotes diversity, quality customer service and professionalism.

  • Drug and Alcohol Program
  • Motor vehicle accident prevention
  • Labor relations
  • Employee benefits
  • ADA coordination
  • Risk Management
  • Indigent Fund Administration
 

Short Term Goals

  • Implement and test Performance Evaluation Program (PEP)
  • Conduct Salary Survey in 2007
  • Implement Vehicle Accident Prevention Program
  • Begin random drug testing for safety sensitive and DOT mandated employees
  • Continue ADA project civic access work
  • Prepare for 2009 union negotiations

 

Long Term Goals

  • Complete Americans with Disability Act (ADA) Project Civic Access
  • Complete salary survey and propose pay equity adjustments for 2008/2009 FY
  • Reduce legal actions and claims
